  Help me get in the mood!

  earlier today i posted a rather scroogish reply to a sweet post from rebel8.. christmas is just a week away.

  i've decorated the house singlehandly - wrapped millions of presents, put the tree up, faithfully pegged the cards up on a silver thread extending over the dining room and am about to commence a frenzy of cleaning so that i dont look too slovenly when the in laws arrive.

  i've even played a bit of bing crosby earlier.. so tell me whats good about christmas and how to get in the spirit?

  Yes, Crumpet...But perhaps you could get some of the fake plastic mistletoe and still hang it from Mr. Crumpet...less prickly.

  And yes....only PMS for Christmas......Which means Mr. Chrystal will be getting a big heaping helping of Why can't you do anything right...don't you love me anymore? Do I look fat in this? - For Christmas.

  I almost feel sorry for him....Almost.

  So far its not looking like I will get what I asked for.....not a big deal - not too Spendy....All I did was ask hubby to " For the love of God will you please child proof the kitchen for Christmas - this kid is into everything all day long!!!"

  my son's have these toys called rescue heroes.

  one of the action figures is in a wheelchair and he has a machine gun mounted to it.... that is really wierd!.

  i have a friend that was dumb enough to allow two elders in his house at the same time to talk to him, he let them in.

  i have told him over and over again never to talk to two elders at the same time.

  I called and spoke with the legal department in Patterson when they were saying they were going to disassociate my husband because he didn't want to speak to them.

  I threatened with defamation of character, alienation of affection and going to the press and followed up with my Attorney's telephone number. I also told them never to come by our house not even in a year or two to update their records. I told them to go to city hall and check public records...if we don't live here they can come by...if they come by I would feed their balls to my dog Cleo.

  So far no visits and no announcement of disassociation.

  I'm sorry Crumpet, I can be of no help to you at all...

  Perhaps you could hang some mistletoe from Mr Crumpets twigs and berries and have a Holly Jolly roll in the hay?

  I am only doing Christmas this year because my boys are so into Christmas...otherwise I would be sticking that tree where the sun don't shine!

  I am in a foul grumpy scroogey mood! I think I am getting PMS for Christmas...LOL!

  this month i went to a circuit assembly (north/west germany) to spy what is going on and too keep me up to date with teachings and jehovah's witnesses language.

  after the assembly was over i just happened to see a father congratulating his child for being baptized.

  My best friend growing up was JW she was dunk'd when we were 9...I went with her and we all went out for ice cream afterwards.. Her parents were so proud of her.

  As far as other churches doing infant baptisms.....

  I know that the ones we have been involved in call them Dedications. It is almost exactly like a baptism but the parents/god parents/grandparents are promising to teach the child about God and Jesus.

  I'm not saying this is what the Catholic Churches are doing....just a lot of non-denom Christian Churches.

  The "Jerry Springer" crowd

  it seems some are a little 'disappointed' with the latest news and events re: the wts and blood.. they seem to love the jerry springer-type scandal where someone will shout (in the street where it is worthless) that "the president raped me" or "all the gb are gay" or "elvis ate my hampster" or whatever.. hay, yeah, that is great new huh?

  that stuff reaaaallllllyyyy makes people think .... .. .. ... that we are f r u i t c a k e s !!.

  perhaps those that are so quick to criticise and dismiss will.

  Simon,

  I was reading the Tort last night to my husband. Even he, who usually has is rose colored glasses on was able to see that they took things out of context and misrepresented things. We only got to page 8 with the Tertullian, Eusebus, Biblis exerpts!

  I don't know that people realize the ramifications of this Tort. I was writing about this in another discussion group.

  We had a cultist (The Body) here in my town that allowed her baby to starve to death because of a vision of another member of the group saying the baby was the reincarnation of Jesus. A few deprogrammers were brought in and testified on her behalf and she was set free.

  One day there may be lawsuits over the blood policy. Who knows, maybe we will see commercials on the television that say - If you or someone you know have been injured by the Jehovahs Witness blood policy call 1-800-GETMONEY - we'll get you the money you deserve.

  And I am sure publicity hungry people like Steve Hassan will jump on the bandwagon and show up in court to testify that people who were once Jehovahs Witnesses were under mind control and couldn't make truly informed decisions for themselves.

  PS - And for any who don't think that Steve Hassan is publicity hungry you obviously didn't see him making a fool of himself on TV - on a multitude of channels - when the John Walker (little dumb american spoiled brat running through the desert pretending to be an Islamic extremeist) Trial was going on here! It made me ashamed to have purchased his book!

  I moderate a Freecycle list and a Pregnancy after Gastric Bypass email list.

  I know what kind of poop hits the fan when people talk about circumcision vs. not circumcising and breastfeeding vs. formula and natural childbirth vs. epidurals....sheesh!

  So I have the utmost respect for what you all have to deal with - nothing makes people crazier than talking about religion!

  Except maybe politics...LOL!

  Any suggestions on Xmas/Holiday Music for others?

  i love xmas music, especially the old standards.

  i used to give in to my pagan urges in grammer school and sang them in music at times.

  in 6th grade, i even secretly joined the chorus and was in the winter concert at school...oh i did love those xmas songs!!.

  Linda Eder who is a Broadway singer has a great Christmas CD. She is amazing!

  Unfortunately, all I have been listening to lately is Kidz Bop Christmas....which isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! LOL!
